Ross River Dam - Sunday 21 April 2008

For the regular monthly Ross River dam walk 11 members started out at 6.30 and drove to the wetland at the southern end of the dam. Things didn't look to good to start with as there was hardly a waterbird on the wetland but to save the day forest birds were in good numbers. After about two hours we had tallied up a list of 52 birds. Two Red-backed Kingfishers, a family of chattering Apostlebirds and a feeding Red-winged Parrot that didn't mind us approaching to within a few metres where the highlights of the day.
