•"The Quest" - This is a Birdlife Townsville Members' only competition and runs all year - The aim is to
record a different species of bird (within Queensland only) for each of the 365 days of the year. It is
competitive, but relies on your honesty and integritry. Remember to enjoy yourself and participate in our

•  Birdlife Australia "National Twitchathon" - From Saturday 26 to Sunday 27 October. This is a
competition to raise funds for Australia's endangered birds. Teams (minimum of two persons) compete in

Kirwan. Theme: "backlit"- Silhouettes are fine, however getting some detail in the bird would be better. Note
in this one that the light source doesn't have to be directly behind the bird. Also I don't think an image of a
bird with its back lit up by the light source captures the intent of the theme.
